Features & Applications

The USB-C5-LC extends one USB device up to 46 meters, and the USB-C5(-CE) extends four USB devices up to 30 meters. The USB extenders consist of two units, the local unit and the remote unit, which are interconnected with CAT5/5e/6 cable.

  • The USB-C5(-CE) and USB-C5-LC are not designed to be connected to an Ethernet card, Ethernet router, hub or switch or other Ethernet RJ45 connector of an Ethernet device. Damage to devices connected to the Ethernet may result.

     


Cables

Interface Cables

  • USB-C5(-CE) includes a 1-meter male USB Type A to male USB Type B interface cable.
  • Existing device cables with male Type A connector required.

Extension Cable

  • Use CAT5, CAT5e or CAT6 UTP straight through cable for TIA/EIA-568B wiring terminated with standard RJ45 connectors (not included).

Extension Limits

  • USB-C5-LC: extend CAT5/5e/6 up to 46 meters.
  • USB-C5(-CE): extend CAT5/5e/6 up to 30 meters.
  • Use of CAT6 cable may decrease the maximum length of extension.
